A Dream Born from the
Heart of Ella

Our Story - Ella Mountain View Hotel

Ella Mountain View Hotel was born from a simple yet powerful vision — to share the breathtaking beauty of Sri Lanka's hill country with travellers from around the world, while offering them a warm and homely haven to return to each evening.

Founded in 2014 by a local family deeply rooted in the Ella community, our hotel began as a modest guesthouse overlooking the mist-laden Ella Gap. Guided by a genuine love for hospitality and the natural splendour surrounding us, we grew — room by room, guest by guest — into the boutique hotel we are proud to be today.

Opened our doors as a family-run guesthouse with 3 rooms and a heartfelt dream.

Expanded to 5 unique room types and launched our in-house Sri Lankan restaurant.
